The Sofia District Prosecutor's Office has requested that Petar Drashkov is kept under permanent detention, the Prosecutor's Office press-center announced on Monday.

The request is going to be tried by the Sofia District Court.

Petar Drashkov, who is the brother of the former Deputy Director of Bulgaria's State National Security Agency DANS Ivan Drashkov, was arrested in the night of Novemebr 27th on fraud charges.

Petar Drashkov was detained at the Kalotina Border Checkpoint on the Bulgarian-Serbian border upon entering Bulgaria.

He is suspected of committing a fraud and illegally acquiring a municipality-owned real estate plot of 14 decares for more than EUR 10 M located in Sofia's Strelbishte Quarter.

Petar Drashkov, allegedly, acquired the property with a forged signature of the Sofia Mayor Boyko Borisov. Petar Drashkov's brother Ivan Drashkov was fired as the Deputy Director of DANS in October after scandalous revelations about the real estate fraud, which was carried out through a firm owned by Petar Drashkov.

Boyko Borisov has declined to publicly explain how the forgery has been discovered.
