Bulgaria Education Minister Receives Karate Black Belt

The Bulgarian Deputy Prime Minister and Education Minister Daniel Vulchev is on an official visit to Japan to participate in the international "Science and Technologies and the Future of Humanity" forum, as announced by the Education Ministry press center.
The forum took place in the Japanese city of Kyoto Sunday and Monday and was opened by the Japanese Minister of State for Science and Technology Policy Seiko Noda. Noda had a personal meeting with Vulchev during the event.
The main topics of the forum were the development of science and technologies, the influence of information and communication systems on the society's progress and the use of science and technology in the area of health care.
Participants in the forum included Education and Science Ministers from all over the world and many Nobel Prize winners such as one of the discoverers of the ozone hole Mario Molina.
In the frame of the forum the Bulgarian Education Minister held a meeting with Mario Molina and with PhD Yukio Sakabe, Director of the Research Center in Kyoto. Sakabe visited Bulgaria in September of 2008 to become acquainted with Bulgaria's research in the area of nanotechnologies.
Vulchev is visiting Tokyo Tuesday. He participated in a karate practice session in a Kyokoshinkai club in the Japanese capital. The President of the World Karate Federation Shokei Matsui officially presented to Vulchev a black belt and a passport certificate. Matsui congratulated the Bulgarian Education Minister because the two best-known and strongest Bulgarian Kyokoshinkai clubs are in his native city of Varna.
