The Deputy District Governor of Sofia Marius Tsakov has been arrested when receiving a bribe in Sofia Wednesday afternoon, as stated before Darik radio by the City Prosecutor Nikolay Kokinov.
The bribe has been in the amount of BGN 25,000.
Tsakov is going to be accused of corruption and has been detained in preliminary custody for 72 hours. The Prosecutor is also going to request Tsakov's permanent detention.
Marius Tsakov has been a Parliament Member of the 39th Parliament from 2001 until 2005 as a representative of the former tsar's party National Movement Simeon II, which was later renamed National Movement for Stability and Progress.
While at the Parliament, Tsakov has been a member of the local government and regional development committee and the environmental committee.
Tsakov has been born in Botevgrad in 1960 and has graduated from Sofia's Medical school.
