Spanish Primera Division side Getafe are tracking Levski Sofia striker Valery Domovchiyski and are ready to swoop for the youngster if his transfer to Blackburn Rovers falls through, reports in Bulgaria claimed on Friday.
The English club and its manager Mark Hughes are expected to decide today whether to offer the 21-year-old a permanent deal, with the two clubs believed to have agreed a fee in the region of GBP 1,4 M for the player.
Domovchiyski has been training with Blackburn's first team since last week, but bad weather and a fragmented training schedule prompted Hughes to extend the Bulgarian's trial period with the club.
The Welshman has a reputation for unearthing gems and signing them for pennies, but if he decides not to follow through on his interest, Getafe are waiting in the wings to pounce, daily Standart reported.
The daily, whose publisher Todor Batkov is also Levski chairman, claimed that Domovchiyski, Levski's top scorer this season with 10 goals in 22 games in all competitions, would prefer to move to England.
Should Blackburn decide against signing Domovchiyski, Sheffield United and Sunderland could be his next destination, having expressed their interest in recent days, Standart said.
Domovchiyski is seen as one of Levski's top youngsters and Batkov has reportedly rebuffed an EUR 2,5 M approach from PSV Eindhoven in the past.
The striker broke into the club's senior team in the 2004/05 season, scoring 54 goals in 121 games since then.
