Indian capital Delhi's deputy mayor has died a day after he fell from his home's terrace in an attempt of fighting off a horde of wild monkeys, BBC reported Monday.
SS Bajwa suffered serious head injuries when he fell from the first-floor terrace early on Saturday.
Mr Bajwa, who is a member of the opposition Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), is survived by his wife and a son, reports said.
The Indian city is struggling to counter its plague of monkeys, which invade government complexes and temples, snatch food and scare passers-by.
Monkey catchers have also been employed to round them up so they can be moved to forests.
