Bulgaria's national football team will meet on Monday for the first training session ahead of next week's European qualifying game against Albania in Tirana.

Only Tottenham striker Dimitar Berbatov and Manchester City winger Martin Petrov, who featured for their teams on Sunday, are yet to join with their teammates.

Anything less than a win will spell the end of Bulgaria's last hopes to qualify for next summer's tournament in Austria and Switzerland.

After last month's defeat against Holland, Bulgaria is third in their qualifying group G on 18 points, two adrift of joint leaders Romania and Holland, but with an extra game played.

Romania and Holland will play on Saturday in Constanta on the Black Sea in a match whose winner will virtually secure qualification for EURO 2008.

Bulgaria, Holland and Romania are the last three teams left with a mathematical chance of featuring in next year's tournament.

On October 17, Romania travel to bottom-placed Luxembourg, while Holland host Slovenia. On the same day, Bulgaria will travel to Albania to take on the team they have failed to beat in Sofia.

The goalless draw drew the curtain on Hristo Stoitchkov's tumultuous two and a half years in charge of the Bulgarian team, with the former European player of the year resigning shortly thereafter.

Current manager Dimitar Penev has called 22 players for the match, more than half of them from the Bulgarian league. The full list of the team follows.

Goalkeepers: Georgi Petkov (Levski Sofia), Dimitar Ivankov (Kayserispor)

Defenders: Radostin Kishishev (Leicester City), Stanislav Angelov (Energie Cottbus), Igor Tomasic (Levski Sofia), Valentin Iliev (CSKA Sofia), Petar Zanev (Celta Vigo), Lucio Wagner (Levski Sofia), Zhivko Milanov (Levski Sofia), Plamen Nikolov (Litex Lovech)

Midfielders: Stiliyan Petrov (Aston Villa), Chavdar Yankov (Hannover), Blagoy Georgiev (Duisburg), Yordan Todorov (CSKA Sofia), Kaloyan Karadzinov (Lokomotiv Sofia), Martcho Davtchev (Lokomotiv Sofia), Dimitar Telkiyski (Levski Sofia), Martin Petrov (Manchester City)

Forwards: Dimitar Berbatov (Tottenham Hotspur), Ivelin Popov (Litex Lovech), Hristo Yovov (Levski Sofia), Velizar Dimitrov (CSKA Sofia)
