Libya Claims EU Satisfied All Its Demands on HIV Deal

Libya announced Tuesday it allowed the five jailed Bulgarian nurses, Palestinian Ashraf and doctor Zdravko Georgiev return home after all its demands have been answered, Darik News reported.

"We were guaranteed stability in our relations with the EU member countries and a partnership agreement with the block," an anonymous Libyabn governmental official said.

Among the other demands satisfied are the secured treatment of the HIV infected Libyan children and a renovation of the Benghazi hospital, where the epidemic was spread.

Besides, Libya insisted on developing some economic project on its territory. Among them are the constructions of a modern highway, which is to connect the border with Tunis with the Egypt's one as well as a railway between some Libyan ports and African cities.

Libya wanted also the EU to restore some of the country's most remarkable archaeological sights.

The anonymous source confirmed that France's President Nicolas Sarkozy is to arrive in Libya on Wednesday. There will be signed several agreements between Tripoli and Paris concerning the spheres of security, energy, education, healthcare and science.
