Bulgarian Company to Secure Kandahar Airport

First Bulgarian company, part of the ISAF troops in Afghanistan, took the responsibility for the security of the inner zone of Kandahar Airport at a solemn ceremony on Friday.

The event was attended by the deputy commander of the Regional Command - South General Haynes and the base's commander Colonel Stevens.

"The Bulgarian military officials are going to strictly perform their mission at Kandahar airport under the national command of lieutenant-colonel Kalin Gandilev due to their perfect training and strong motivation," the commander of the company Captain Petko Tsanev said.

He thanked his Romanian colleagues for their help in training the Bulgarian troops in accordance with the specific requirements of the new service.
