Now that Balkan Hemus Group has merged Hemus Air, flag carrier Bulgaria Air and low-cost Viaggio Air, the company will focus on punctuality and servicing the interior flights' market.

Hemus Air CEO Dimitar Pavlov told the media that the carrier company's primary short-term goals were providing safety for the passengers, and adhering strictly to their schedule. The company would ensure its second goal by always keeping at leas one plane in reserve. Balkan Hemus Group has already achieved a pretty high flight regularity for January, Pavlov boasted, adding that they had almost reached EU levels.

All three companies have already started renewing the interior of their planes and they should be done renovating withing two months. They are also negotiating for new planes.

If there is any growth in the air carrier business in 2007 it will be recorded mainly by Bulgarian companies and several low-cost fliers that plan to start servicing the country, Palvlov predicted. He explained that foreign airlines hadn't introduced changes to their schedule regarding Bulgaria, despite the country's entry to the EU.

Balkan Hemus Group are paying extra attention to interior flights and they will have four Sofia-Varna flights a day this summer, meant to service help Bulgarian and foreign businessmen. The company and its three airlines will also start offering daily Sofia-Burgas flights for the first time ever.
