New York authorities said they are investigating a strange-smelling odour reported across parts of Manhattan.
There appeared to be little disruption to daily life in Manhattan, but there were reports of a gas-like smell.
Reports said that parts of the commuter train service between New York and New Jersey were suspended because of a smell of gas.
There was no indication of any link to terror. There was a previous report of a gas-like smell in August last year.
