Bulgarian Pensioners Want Bus Schedule Changed to Watch Soap Opera

Politics | January 8, 2007, Monday // 00:00

Pensioners from Bulgaria's northern city of Vratsa were shocked to find that a change in the airing time of their favourite soap opera "The Bold and the Beautiful" clashes with the time they have to take a bus to go work in the nearby fields.

Most of the locals own land near the city and go to tend to it on a daily basis.

The bus for the outskirts leaves at 9.30 in the morning, but the new airing time of the soap opera is 10:15.

Desperate that they would have to choose between the drama and real life, the local pensioners' club is planning to petition the municipality to change the schedule of the bus.
