The leader of ultra-nationalist party Ataka Volen Siderov called for putting an end to Bulgaria's diplomatic relations with Libya after it confirmed the death sentences of five Bulgarian nurses and the Palestinian doctor.

Siderov organized Tuesday a fervent protest in front of the Libyan Embassy in Sofia, where more than 30 people turned up, chanting "killers" and promising to be back tomorrow.

"This is a monstrosity against Bulgaria," Siderov said, referring to the court decision. "All chiefs of the counter intelligence and intelligence services must resign and all Bulgaria's foreign minister must go to court."

He was absolutely explicit that the governments of the rightist hardliner Ivan Kostov, ex-PM Simeon Saxe-Coburg and ethnic Turks leader Ahmed Dogan, as well the current cabinet are to blame for the HIV-trial in Libya.

"Where is Washington now, why the US, which claims to be our ally and we gave them free military bases, do not intervene now as they did when they bombarded Yugoslavia and Iraq? Why are they now silent and trade with Libya?," Siderov asked.

"Our allies consider us US's poodle," he said.

Siderov offered Bulgarians to besiege the Libyan Embassy in Sofia and the police to arrest five Libyans, hold them hostage and when the time comes, hand them over in an exchange for the Bulgarian nurses.
