Sofia mayor Boyko Borisov, who had persistently evaded questions on plans to found a new party, announced Thursday he would make clear his vision for a new political formation in the summer.
"I will come up with a formula for setting up a new party in June or July", Boyko Borisov told the morning broadcast of Nova TV channel.
The former top anti-crime boss fighter, who built up the image of a man with don't-bother-me-cause-I'm-too-busy expression over the last few years and basked in the media spotlight, said he was ready to bear the responsibility for heading a brand new political organization.
Borissov refused to disclose whether the new political formation will be a party, movement, block or coalition, but did not rule out cooperation with the right-wing Union of Democratic Forces.
Prior to the Sofia mayoral run-off in November last year, analysts considered Borissov a sure bet to win, not ruling out a run for higher office.
The victory of the independent candidate, who shied from identifying with either side of the political spectrum, gave ground to forecasts that Borissov may become the face of a new right-wing coalition.
The general however steadily evaded questions on plans to set up a new party or get involved in the country's presidential elections, due in 2006.
