Bulgarian Coaching Legend Dies

Georgi Pachedzhiev, Bulgaria's first full-side football coach to lead the team to World Cup, passed away on Tuesday.

He was aged 89.

Pachedzhiev coached the national team over 1960-1963.

In 1962, the squad qualified for the first time ever for the World Cup, played in Chili.

Pachedzhiev's playing career peaked with local Levski FC, where later on he took a coaching job.
