About 80% of Bulgaria's part of Danube River is already in the embrace of ice, with prospects of the entire area to be frozen by Friday.
With temperatures of air around minus 20 in the last couple of days, the ice has persisted and threatens to entirely block the traffic along the river.
The record blistering cold over the Balkans claimed the lives of twelve people in various countries of the region overnight.
