Sofia University Cancelled all Classes at the Medical Faculty in Protest
Sofia University has terminated all classes and internships for all specialties at the Faculty of Medicine.
The Minister of Health Dr. Stoycho Katsarov commented on current issues and topics to the media.
There is no chaos and panic. If the number of infected continues to increase, this may require the imposition of additional measures for physical differentiation, but here the leading opinion of experts, the minister said.
Asked that another district, Pernik, was entering the dark red zone for COVID-19, he said:
The regional measures are taken by the directors of RHI and are coordinated with the Chief State Health Inspector. We must act according to the region.
For me, the leading factor is not the number of infected people, but the number of people in hospitals, the Minister of Health is categorical.
There is pressure on the health system, it is from the very beginning, admitted Dr. Katsarov.
There is certainly a hidden morbidity, many people examine themselves and do not report the result so as not to be quarantined, the minister added.
He explained that at this stage there are enough open beds and so far there is no need to reveal additional ones.
The uninsured will not receive free medicines for COVID-19, Dr. Katsarov is categorical.
