Home Sweet Home: The Reality of Housing in Bulgaria Revealed
New data from the National Statistical Institute (NSI) sheds light on the housing landscape in Bulgaria, painting a picture of the majority of Bulgarians residing in older homes.
The emergency epidemic period has lasted too long, which points to a lack of clear-cut criteria for its introduction or cancellation, told bTV epidemiologist Prof. Mira Kozhuharova.
She pointed out that real emergencies related to the coronavirus have been overcome for quite some time, and the issue is not medical now.
In her words, the current situation has nothing to do with the state of affairs a year ago.
Kozhuharova said that Bulgaria is emerging from the third wave of coronavirus, the number of positive cases is decreasing and there is a trend for a decline in mortality rate.
My feeling is that it is much easier to govern a country in an emergency situation and it is a political decision, the epidemiologist noted.
In her words, every epidemic wave has a beginning and an end. According to her, in our country the third wave was caused by the British strain, which was claimed to spread much faster.
She explained that those currently hospitalized are over 50 years old. There were also sick young children and young people, but they were more of an exception.
According to Kozhuharova, we will continue to wear masks in everyday life, even if we have recovered and have antibodies or were vaccinated.
We remind that the outgoing cabinet is expected today to extend the pandemic situation until May 31.
