50 Years Ago: China Launches Bulgarian Language Radio Broadcasts
In a testament to enduring friendship, this year marks the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Bulgaria and China
The resignation of the Cabinet Borissov 3 was accepted with 156 votes “for” and applause. This wat was the first item on the agenda of today's session.
GERB's parliamentary group did not take part in the vote, even though its members were in the plenary hall.
GERB asked on what legal grounds the MPs had to vote on the Government's resignation. Dani Kanazireva MP of GERB insisted
that the resignation should be tendered and not put to the vote.
National Assembly Chair Iva Miteva explained that a performative act of Parliament accepting the resignation was needed in order
to objectify it, which is why a vote on it must be taken. After its resignation is accepted, the outgoing Cabinet will continue
to perform its functions until a new one is elected, she said.
"The simple reason for this vote is that the people demanded this resignation and this change. But again, I give a warning to you and to all of us. This resignation is just a crack in the pattern. There is a lot of work to be done to discard this model once and for all from the government of the country", commented BSP leader Kornelia Ninova.
Armand Babikian of Stand Up! Mafiosi Out party commented that the GERB government's resignation was long overdue:
"This resignation had to be submitted last year when the Bulgarian people were protesting. I say this for everyone who took to the streets and protested in dozens of the Bulgarian cities, in dozens of cities abroad where there are Bulgarians. They went out and raised their voice. Apparently, Mr. Boyko Metodiev Borisov clung to this post despite everything."
The cabinet’s resignation was voted in absentia of PM Boyko Borissov.
