The notorious Roma baron Kiril Rashkov, aka Tsar Kiro, was buried in Plovdiv like an Egyptian pharaoh. He was laid in a specially built mausoleum, like that of one of his sons. Along with the Roma baron, suitcases with his personal belongings, gold jewelry worth dozens of thousands levs, furniture and even his golden throne were brought to his last resting place. The dimensions of the tomb are 5/3/3 meters.
Next to the throne there was a luxurious table, which the relatives piled up with cigars and his favorite drinks. The trays were full of exquisite dishes, and for splendor the tomb was decorated with replicas of the Panagyurishte gold treasure. After the end of the ceremony, the entrance to the tomb will be cemented.
Deluxe vehicles had jammed the parking lot of Plovdiv Central Cemeteries. In a limousine escorted by black SUVs, King Kiro's coffin was brought in.
To his journey beyondTsar Kiro was sent off with an orchestra. The funeral procession passed from his house in the center of Plovdiv, along Blvd. Maria Luisa. Those closest to him walked to the cemetery, despite heavy rain .
The orchestra kept performing folk and pop pieces not stopping for a minute. Even Aziz's famous song "Habibi" sounded on the cemetery's main alley.
More than 100 people honored Rashkov and arrived with flowers to say farewell to him.The mourners showed special respect to his son Angel, who will probably "inherit" him on the throne.
