GERB Chairman Boyko Borissov held a telephone call with EPP Secretary General Antonio Lopez. During the conversation Antonio Lopez wished success to the GERB-UDF Coalition in the upcoming parliamentary elections, GERB press office reported.
The Secretary General of the EPP expressed his satisfaction with the fact that the unification of GERB and the UDF consolidates the right-wing, pro-European forces – something that EPP representatives have repeatedly called for.
"Our coalition includes the largest right-wing and the oldest right-wing parties in Bulgaria. Our cooperation is more than fruitful. You saw it in the European elections, and you saw it in the local elections. I expect that we will again achieve a good result in the parliamentary vote. With our colleagues from the UDF we firmly believe that the European path ahead of our country has no alternative and we will be a guarantor in the next parliament for the preservation of the Euro-Atlantic orientation of the country", pointed out Boyko Borissov.
The President of GERB familiarized the Secretary General of the EPP with the highlights of the political program of the party for the elections - "Bulgaria Next Generation".
"We believe that we can achieve strong economic growth and by 2025 Bulgaria will have GDP of EUR 100 billion. We will invest heavily in innovation and education. We've fulfilled all our commitments taken four years ago. We will implement our program now," Borissov stressed.
During the conversation, he informed Antonio Lopez about the course of the election campaign in Bulgaria, stressing that unlike its political opponents GERB relies on a constructive campaign and a presentation of the work done.
In connection with the ongoing pandemic in Europe and the world, Boyko Borissov expressed confidence that the EU and the EPP will deal with the difficult situation, remain united and stand in full solidarity in crisis.
