Daniel Mitov Ready for Foreign Minister Role Amid Geopolitical Test in Bulgaria

British MPs today adopted a government proposal to postpone Brexit, as well as a new vote on the exit treaty agreed by Theresa May and Brussels, the France press said.
The government's proposal was backed by 402 votes and 202 MPs voted against. The vote took place 15 days before the scheduled date for Brexit, 29 March. The proposal provides for a short-term delay until June 30th, if MPs approve the EU exit agreement of Theresa May by March 20, which they have twice rejected. If the text is rejected again, the postponement should be for a longer period and the British will then have to take part in the European elections in May.
Prime Minister May uses the threat of longer delay to press Brexit's supporters in the Conservative Party to endorse her deal, Reuters said.
A new vote on the document will likely be next week when these MPs will have to decide whether to approve a transaction that does not ensure a clear exit from the EU what they want or to accept Brexit which can be blurred and even failed by a long delay , adds the agency.
If Britain wants to postpone its exit from the European Union, it will be necessary for EU country leaders to unanimously agree, a spokesman for the European Commission said.
"Members will need to discuss such a request by giving priority to the need to ensure the functioning of the EU institutions and to assess the reasons for such a request and the length of any postponement," the spokesman said. He added that EC President Jean-Claude Juncker has a permanent relationship with all leaders.
EU leaders will meet in Brussels on 21 and 11 March. It is then expected that they will decide on the possible postponement of Breckit after the scheduled date of March 29, the DPA adds.
