A least twenty-five people have died and dozens have been wounded by a bombing in Egypt's capital Cairo, world media report.

Victims' bodies have been found inside St Peter's church, which is close to the St Mark Coptic Cathedral, according to the BBC.

The cathedral is the seat of the Coptic church head, Pope Tawadros II.

Peter's church has also been left damaged by the blast.

Security forces have sealed off the main roads into the area, Al Ahram English reports.

MENA news agency is quoted as saying the blast was triggered by a 12-kg TNT bomb.

The attack comes after another bomb explosion on Friday on a road leading to the pyramids at Giza, with six police officers losing their lives.
