Flu Epidemic Declared in Three New Bulgarian Regions
Three new regions in Bulgaria have declared a flu epidemic following the increased spread of the virus
ALC, a Canada-headquartered auto upholstery producer, is set to open its third plant in the country, Capital Daily reports.
The new facility will be located in Blagoevgrad, in Bulgaria's southwest.
ALC Bulgaria so far employs 1600 people in its its plants in Musachevo and Ihtiman.
In 2011, then South African-owned Automotive Leather Company (ALC) set foot in Bulgaria in 2011.
It was acquired in 2014 by Canada's Exco Technologies Limited.
The two factories produce seat upholstery for BMW, Mini Cooper and Audi.
The new plant, investment into which is estimated at BGN 0.5-1 M, is designed to produce steering wheel upholstery for Volkswagen by employing up to 250 people. It will act as a Tier 2 supplier, delivering its products to a Romanian company.
