Russian President Vladimir Putin's spokesperson has said Moscow welcomes "some of the statements" of victors in both Bulgaria and Moldova's presidential elections whose second rounds were held Sunday.

The statements, which Dmitry Peskov does not elaborate on, are a show of "readiness to work toward the normalization in relations with other countries, including ours", TASS news agency quotes him as telling reporters.

Russia, however, is against labelling the two President-elects "pro-Russian".

Both Rumen Radev and Igor Dodon, who won the vote in Bulgaria and Moldova respectively, have indicated they will seek normalization with Russia.

But while Radev has placed an emphasis on Bulgaria's EU and NATO membership, Dodon's socialist party has already vowed to reverse the course to EU integration pursued by non-member Moldova.
