Daniel Mitov Ready for Foreign Minister Role Amid Geopolitical Test in Bulgaria

Ombudsman Maya Manolova has submitted to the Constitutional Court of Bulgaria sections of the Electoral Code curbing the number of polling stations abroad.
Manolova, who declared on Sunday she would take the step a day later, believes a restriction which sets a cap of 35 Bulgarian polling stations per country, violates the constitution by infringing on the rights of some expats to vote.
By curbing the number of polling stations, authorities bar many Bulgarian citizens who chose to live out of the country from taking part in the elections, Manolova has argued in a statement to the media.
Her move comes as GERB, Bulgaria's biggest party led by Prime Minister Boyko Borisov, announced it would submit draft amendments to the Electoral Code which would remove the restriction.
The change, if approved, would come three weeks before the presidential elections in the country.
