The National Art Gallery of Bulgaria has unveiled a collection of works by Russian Impressionists for the first time.
The sixty-six paintings by 43 artists include works by Alexey Isupov, Konstantin Gorbatov and Valentin Serov.
Visitors to the gallery can enjoy the paintings between October 07 and November 23.
"The phenomenon of Russian Impressionism was unknown before, but now that we are showing it to the world, art history books need to be written anew," Boris Mintz, a Russian investor and founder of the Russian Impressionism Museum, has said at a press conference.
"I am sure that the guests of the exhibition will be touched by the achievements of Russian Impressionism, which does not deserve to be so little known in Europe," Yuliya Petrova, who heads the museum
A catalogue with works will also be available.
The exhibition is accompanied by the music of contemporary (born 1976) Russian composer Dmitry Kurlyandsky, which is be played inside the halls.
