The United Nations General Assembly is to conduct an informal dialogue with European Commission Vice President Kristalina Georgieva on Monday, days after the latter was nominated by Bulgaria for the UN's top job.
Georgieva's hearing at the UNGA, the first test she is facing as a candidate for the office of UN Secretary General, comes just before a decisive vote on Wednesday when security council members will show their preferences for candidates.
The procedure on Monday will last two hours, each member state being allowed to make an intervention of up to two minutes (or three minutes by for groups, the latter options being encouraged). If time permits it, there will be an opportunity for civil society representatives to ask questions.
The hearing is expected to begin at 12:00 EST, or 20:00 Bulgarian time (EEST).

Last week, upon accepting the government's nomination, Georgieva also published her vision about the office of UN Secretary General, urging thorough reform and a clear focus at the world organization.
