Bulgaria: Bulgarian UN Secretary General Nominee Bokova Remains Sixth After Straw Poll BGNES

Bulgaria’s nominee for Secretary General of the UN, Irina Bokova, remained 6th after the straw poll of the Security Council on Monday.

Bokova received a result of 6 (encourage) -7 (discourage) -3 (no opinion)by the 15 members of the Security Council.

The Portuguese candidate Antonio Guterres ranked 1st again with a score of 12-2-1.

Earlier in September, Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borisov said Bokova would remain the country's official candidate to take over from Ban Ki-moon until September 26, but set the condition that she should be at least one of the two nominees with top results.
