Merkel admitted to Defense Failures
Former German Chancellor Angela Merkel criticized her own government's defense policy and called for a negotiated solution to the war in Ukraine
The ruling German parties – the German Democratic Union and the Christian Social Union - are close to taking a decision on introducing a limit on refugee admission, reported TASS.
CDU, whose leader is Angela Merkel, is ready to discuss a concrete number which would “correspond to the interests of the country”.
“There is unity between the parties on key issues,” stated CSU’s General Secretary Peter Tauber.
Earlier, Merkel claimed that the introduction of a limit would not solve the country’s problems.
“A statistical limit would not solve the problem. We have to work on having fewer people arrive, on them having better opportunities in their own homeland,” said Merkel.
