Historic Victory: Bulgaria's Under-18 Women's Team Wins European Title!
Bulgaria has won the European Volleyball Championship!
The national women's volleyball team of Bulgaria will be able to participate in the European volleyball championship next year after beating Switzerland on Friday.
It took the Bulgarians five games to defeat their opponent 3:2 (20:25, 25:17, 23:25, 25:15, 15:12), with local sports websites suggesting they had underestimated the Swiss team.
This was Bulgaria's fifth victory in the qualifiers stage, awarding it the first place in the group.
On Saturday, the team will face Romania in the last day of the qualifiers.
The 2017 Women's European Championship will be held in Azerbaijan and Georgia. No dates had been set yet.
