Bulgaria: Bulgaria President to Meet Expats in New York ahead of UNGA Statement File photo, BGNES

Bulgarian President Rosen Plevneliev is set to meet members of the expat community in New York on the first day of his visit to the United States, his press office says.

Plevneliev is in New York for the 71st session of the UN General Assembly which began on September 13. Statements by heads of state or government from around the globe are expected over the next week and the week after.

Interior Minister Rumyana Bacharova and Foreign Minister Daniel Mitov are also part of Bulgaria's official delegation to New York.

The Bulgarian President's visit is to continue until September 23. His statement within the session's general debate has been scheduled for September 22, the day Bulgaria marks its Independence.
