Bulgaria’s investment climate has strong advantages, particularly in the area of computer software development and the country can be an attractive destination for South Korean firms from the ICT sector, South Korea’s Foreign Minister Yun Byung-se has said.
"For us, Bulgaria is a key partner not only in Southeast Europe but in the EU as well," Yun Byung-se said at a meeting with Prime Minister Boyko Borisov in Sofia on Wednesday, according to a statement from the Bulgarian government press office.
Yun Byung-se is paying the first visit by a South Korean Foreign Minister to Bulgaria since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1990.
Borisov welcomed the interest of South Korean companies to invest in energy and infrastructure projects in Bulgaria, as well as in agriculture, the automotive industry and the information and communication technologies (ICT) sector.
Bulgaria is also interested in South Korea’s experience in ensuring energy security, which is a priority for the government in Sofia, Borisov added.
