Bulgaria: Bulgarian PM Borisov Discussing Border Protection with EU Commission Chief Juncker Photo credit: government.bg

Bulgaria’s Prime Minister Boyko Borisov held talks with European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker in Luxembourg, the government press office announced on Monday.

Borisov informed Juncker about  the measures which Bulgaria has taken to protect the its border from irregular migration flow, including the construction of wire fence along the border with Turkey.

The Bulgarian prime minister also highlighted efficient cooperation between border police and army units in detaining groups of irregular migrants and sending them back to Greece.

Jean-Claude Juncker congratulated Borisov and Bulgarian state for the timely response and implementation of one of the fastest readmission operations in Europe, according to a statement from the government press office in Sofia.
