Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borisov has appointed Petya Tyankova as third Deputy Justice Minister, the government's press service informs.

Tyankova holds Master's degree in Law from the University of National and World Economy and another Master in Protection of the Environment and Sustainable Development from the University of Chemical Technology and Metallurgy.

Since 2012 she has served as Secretary for Legal Affairs of President Rosen Plevneliev. Before that she had been legal affairs adviser to the regional minister between 2009 and 2012.

Tyankova has fifteen years of experience as lawyer and between 2002 and 2012 she was lawyer at the Sofia Bar Association.

This is the latest appointment to the justice ministry since the resignation of former Justice Minister Hristo Ivanov at the end of last year.

Ivanov resigned after parliament failed to adopt all the constitutional amendments concerning the reform of the judiciary which had been proposed by him. He was succeeded by Ekaterina Zaharieva.

There was another appointment of deputy minister on Friday when Borisov appointed Denitsa Sacheva as Deputy Labour Minister.

This development follows the resignation of former Deputy Prime Minister and Labour Minister Ivaylo Kalfin earlier in May.

Kalfin in line with the decision of his left-wing party, Alternative for Bulgarian Revival (ABV), to withdraw its support for the coalition government due to disagreement with some of the policies pursued. He was succeeded by his deputy Zornitsa Rusinova.
