Bulgarian Foreign Minister Daniel Mitov said on Tuesday his country was ready to assist Albania along the tough road "to reform leading to EU membership".

Mitov made the comment after meeting his Albanian counterpart Ditmir Bushati, who was on a visit to Sofia.

The two signed a memorandum for cooperation in EU integration issues.

During his stay, Bushati will also attend Wednesday's session of the Committee of Ministers with the Council of Europe, the last session that is being held under Bulgaria's rotating presidency (until the end of May).
