The International Consortium of Investigative Journalists (ICIJ) said on Monday it provided free access to millions of files that lift the veil of secrecy from more than 200,000 offshore entities created in 21 jurisdictions.

The huge database is now searchable, the U.S.-based organization said on its website,

The data now made public “represents a fraction of the Panama Papers, a trove of more than 11.5 million leaked files from the Panama-based law firm Mossack Fonseca one of the world’s top creators of hard-to-trace companies, trusts and foundations.”

An anonymous source had leaked the documents to German daily newspaper  Sueddeutsche Zeitung" which shared them with ICIJ.

The leaked data covers nearly 40 years, from 1977 through the end of 2015.

At least 50 companies, 16 company owners and 78 shareholders from Bulgaria have been linked to registrations in offshore jurisdictions around the world, according to Sofia-based news daily newspaper 24 Chasa, which is the only Bulgarian partner to the consortium.
