Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borisov has reshuffled deputy ministers in the country's education ministry.
Borisov has issued an order for the appointment of Krasimir Kiryakov as deputy education minister to replace Kostadin Kostadinov who has been dismissed.
The reason for Kostadinov's dismissal has not been outlined in the statement released by the government's press service on Tuesday.
Kiryakov holds two Master's degrees – in Bulgarian philology from Sofia University and marketing from the University of National and World Economy.
He served as chairperson of the managing board of the Bulgarian association of European programmes consultants between 2008 and 2012.
Kiryakov has a lengthy experience in holding managerial positions in the development of large international projects.
He has been a senior consultant to the World Bank and the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development.
This is the latest reshuffle in the education ministry after the replacement of former Education Minister Todor Tanev with Deputy Prime Minister Meglena Kuneva in the beginning of February.
Borisov asked Tanev to resign due to systematic problems in the education system and proposed controversial changes to the school curriculum which had not been subject to broad public discussion.
There was also reshuffle at the level of deputy education ministers, with Vanya Kastreva resigning and Diyan Stamatov appointed.
