Bulgaria and China signed agreements for cooperation in the areas of air and water transport.

The agreements were signed during the visit of Bulgaria’s Deputy Transport Minister Anton Ginev to Shanghai and Zhengzhou between March 2 and 6.

In the presence of Ginev, an agreement was signed between Sofia airport and a Chinese company, which will provide the airport with a software product.

The software product offers a system for management of human resources in the servicing of aircraft, the transport ministry informs.

The product will save time when conducting communication, with the aim being to improve the work efficiency and cut the expenses of the airport.

The software will also ease the transfer of data and information within the airport.

The installation and maintenance of the product will be free of charge during the first five years.

The airport in Sofia is the first airport in the EU to use the product, which is already functioning at the airport in Shanghai.

During his trip to China, Ginev also visited Zhengzhou which is the main transport hub in central China and held meetings with representatives of Zhengzhou International Hub Development and Construction Co., Ltd. (ZIH), a state company operating in the field of transport and logistics.

Representatives of the company had already visited Bulgarian ports in order to examine their technical state.

In the presence of Ginev, an agreement for cooperation was signed between a Bulgarian company and ZIH.

The document aims at cooperation, partnership and joint operation of the Zhengzhou-Burgas line, including a Bulgarian ferryboat as part of the new Silk Road, which foresees the Bulgarian port as China’s entry point to Europe and its first European destination

At the Black Sea port, the transport containers will be loaded onto block trains for Hamburg.

The itinerary of the goods transported with ferryboat begins in the Chinese province of Henan and passes through Kazakhstan, the Caspian Sea, Baku, Georgia and the Black Sea.

In Burgas, the goods will be loaded onto block trains headed for western Europe.
