Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borisov has decided to redistribute the specific porfolios assigned to the four Deputy Prime Ministers, the government's press office has said.

The move is related to the recent appointment of Meglena Kuneva, until then Deputy PM for institutional affairs without a ministerial portfolio, as Education Minister.

Kuneva will now be in charge of coordiation of the work at the Foreign Affairs, Justice and Defense Ministries, but will also oversee the State Agency for Metrological and Technical Surveillance, which deals with fuels and high-risk equipment.

Kuneva will also monitor activity at the State Agency for Bulgarians Abroad, the Nuclear Regulatory Agency, the National Evaluation and Accreditation Agency, the Patent Office, the Center for Prevention and Countering Corruption and Organized Crime.

Earlier in February, other government officials confirmed that Kuneva would hold on to the commitment to implementing anti-corruption legislation during her term in office, despite taking over the Education Ministry.

Deputy PM and Interior Minister Rumyana Bachvarova for her part will oversee the activity of culture, heathcare, sports, and tourism ministries. The State Agency for Refugees, the Archives State Avgency, the Communications Regulation Commission, and the National Statistical Institute will also be monitored by Bachvarova.

Tomislav Donchev, the single Deputy to Borisov who has no ministry to be in charge of, will overseee activities at the ministries of finance, regional development, economy, energy, transport, agriculture, and environment. Agencies whose work he will have to follow closely include the State Reserve and War-Time Stock agency, the Energy and Water Regulatory Commission, the State Commission for Stock Exchange, and the Privatization and Post-Privatization Control Agency.

Being a Labor and Social Policy Ministry, Ivaylo Kalfin will be in charge of the state child protection agency and the National Agency for Professional Education and Training. Kalfin is also keeping his commitment to overseeing national demographics policies.
