The Bulgarian parliament will vote on the first censure motion against the second government of Boyko Borsiov on Friday.

The opposition will subject the government to a vote of no confidence for its failure in its healthcare policy.

The censure motion is expected to be unsuccessful as the opposition parties will not garner the support of 121 MPs.

The vote of no confidence was submitted by a total of 69 MPs from the two largest opposition parties – the Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP) and the Movement for Rights and Freedoms (DPS) as well as two non-affiliated MPs.

The largest ruling party GERB, its junior coalition partner – the Reformist Bloc, and the two parties supporting the coalition government – the Patriotic Front (PF) and Alternative for Bulgarian Revival (ABV) are expected to vote against.

Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borisov did not attend the debates on the censure motion on Wednesday and will be not present at the voting as he is in Brussels for the meeting of the European Council.
