Kasim Dal, one of the co-founders of the Movement for Rights and Freedoms (DPS) who in 2011 was dismissed as Deputy Chair and expelled from the party.
Dal has commented on the fate of Lyutvi Mestan, the DPS's former chair who was removed from the office and ousted from the party after criticism from its honorary chair, Ahmed Dogan, over his "pro-Turkish" position in the dispute between Ankara and Moscow. Mestan was selected by Dogan to take over in January 2013.
