A mass fight in the centre of the Bulgarian capital on Tuesday evening left three Afghan citizens lightly injured.
The incident happened in front of a kebab shop in the area between the Central market hall and Lions' bridge (Lavov most), where migrants often gather.
According to media reports, the fight pitted against each other two large groups of Afghan and Pakistani men.
The signal for the fight was submitted by eyewitnesses of the incident.
According to the Bulgarian National Television (BNT), the fight started after an argument between refugees in the possession of valid documents issued by the State Agency for Refugees (DAB), while private NOVA TV claims that the fight was due to a dispute between migrants and smugglers.
At the arrival of the police, all participants in the fight ran away except for the three injured men who were transported to hospitals.
Police is working on the case and is interrogating witnesses of the incident.
This is not the first fight between migrants in downtown Sofia, with locals complaining that such incidents take place on a regular basis.
Last year, a fight between two groups of Iraqi Kurds left one injured in November, while earlier in September a knife fight between three Syrian refugees had resulted in one victim.
However fights are not only limited to the city centre, with residents of the Ovcha Kupel neighbourhood having complained that migrant fights disturb daily life.
