Bulgaria's Tourism Struggles to Diversify Beyond Traditional Offerings
Bulgaria continues to lag behind neighboring countries in achieving significant growth in its tourism sector
A forest fire has broken out in Gabrovo Region, in central Bulgaria, BGNES reported on Sunday.
The blaze is spreading on several fronts and has engulfed over 10 hectares of deciduous and coniferous trees in Todorcheta area by mid-afternoon on Sunday.
About 50 firefighters, forest guards and volunteers are trying to contain the flames but strong winds and the rugged terrain, which makes the area inaccessible to motor vehicles, are hampering the firefighting operation, BGNES said.
The reasons for the blaze were not immediately known.
