The Burgas Affair, the second novel of Israeli writer Ellis Shuman, will be published in Bulgarian before the original, English-language version appears, the author has announced on his blog.
Burgas is the name of one of Bulgaria's largest cities and a key Black Sea port.
"I am excited to announce that my novel The Burgas Affair will be published in Bulgarian by Ciela, the leading Bulgarian publishing house," Shuman wrote on Friday.
His book tells the story of a Bulgarian policeman and an Israeli woman from the Mossad teamed up to work "a case involving international terrorists and local criminals in both Bulgaria and Israel, while confronting the traumas of their past."
In a May interview, he told Novinite the book connected Bulgaria and Israel.
Bulgaria is also the setting of Valley of Thracians (published in English), the previous novel by Ellis Shuman, who regularly writes about the country on his blog and elsewhere.
