Poland is holding parliamentary elections on Sunday, with the conservative Law and Justice (PiS) party hoping to return to power after spending eight years in opposition.
Opinion polls ahead of the elections showed PiS well ahead of the Civic Platform (PO) party of incumbent Prime Minister Ewa Kopacz.
The Law and Justice party, which is led by former prime minister Jaroslaw Kaczynski, won the presidential elections held earlier in May.
Poles are unhappy at their poor prospects and feel benefits are not evenly distributed, the BBC reports.
PiS is most strongly supported in rural areas and people close to the Roman Catholic Church.
Meanwhile, the Civic Platform is experiencing difficult times, as number of its ministers were involved in an eavesdropping scandal last year.
Furthermore, Deputy Justice Minister Monika Zbrojewska was dismissed on Friday after being charged with drink-driving.
The refugee crisis was among the key issues in the debate prior to the elections, with the government having agreed to accept 7000 migrants, while the opposition parties have expressed disagreement with the move.
Recently, Kaczynski was criticised for suggesting that migrants could bring diseases and parasites to Poland.
The conservative leader is not running for the office of prime minister and has instead nominated Beata Szydlo for the position.
However some observers expect that Kaczynski will assume the position if his party achieves a convincing victory.
