MH17 Hit by Russian-Made Buk Missile - Dutch Report

Malaysian Airlines flight MH17, which crashed in Eastern Ukraine in July 2014, was downed by a Russian-made 9M38 anti-aircraft Buk missile, a report prepared by the Dutch Safety Board says.
The airplane was conducting a flight between Amsterdam and Kuala Lumpur when it was shot down in the sky above eastern Ukraine on July 17, 2014. The subsequent crash resulted in the death of all 298 people on board - 283 passengers and 15 crew members.
Findings were first disclosed to the victims' relatives and then made communicated to the media and the public, according to the BBC.
Relatives were told it was unlikely that people on board had suffered as a result of the impact with the missile.
The document is not aimed at blaming any particular side for the incident, but simply at pointing out what caused the crash.
Moscow has challenged the findings, arguing it is impossible to confirm them with certainty. In July Russia vetoed a United Nations Security Council resolution that would have established an international tribunal over the incident.
