Bulgaria: Bulgaria Agrees to Upgrade Status of Seychelles Consulate in Sofia

Bulgaria on Wednesday gave its consent for the opening of a consulate general of the Republic of Seychelles in Sofia, upgrading the status of the current consulate.

The consulate general will be headed by a honorary consular official, which changes the rank of the current honorary consul Maxim Behar, who will perform those functions, the Bulgarian government said in a statement following its weekly meeting.

The upgrade of the status of the diplomatic representation of the Republic of Seychelles – to consulate general from consulate – is expected to contribute to the expansion of cooperation in trade, economy, education, science and culture, according to the statement.
