Bulgaria's reigning football champion Ludogorets signed on Wednesday a contract with the Brazilian player Natanael Batista Pimienta.

Before coming to Razgrad, the 24-year-old left back played for the Brazilian team Atletico Paranaense, where he recorded 55 games and scored one goal and seven assists.

Prior to that he played for the team of his hometown – Cuiaba, where he recorded 46 games and scored one goal.

Following lengthy and difficult negotiations, Natanael signed a contract for three seasons and is due to start training with the team on Thursday.

The break in the negotiations was in no small part due to the excellent partner relations between Ludogorets and Atletico Paranaense.

This is the third new Brazilian and the eighth new player to be signed on the squad.

The Brazilian described his contract with Ludogorets as an important step in his career, as he sought to continue his professional development in Europe.

Natanael was impressed by the fourth successive championship titles of Ludogorets and the serious achievements of the club in the European tournaments

He said that he knows personally his fellow nationals and teammates Cicinho and Cafu, who were respectively signed from Santos and Sao Paulo, as he had played against them last season.

According to Brazilian media, Ludogorets paid EUR 1.37 M for the transfer of Natanael, sportal.bg informs.
