Turkish authorities have confirmed the identity of the suspected suicide bomber, who carried out the attack in Suruc on Monday, which left at least 32 people dead and injured hundreds.

The identity of the suspected Islamic State (IS) attacker was confirmed by a DNA report, Daily Hurriyet informs.

The attacker has been identified as twenty-year-old student Seyh Abdurrahman Alagoz, who was registered in Adiyaman province.

The attack targeted the municipal cultural centre in the southeastern town of Suruc, where members of the Federation of Socialist Youth Associations (SGDF) were staying as part of their summer holiday.

The youth activists were planning to cross the border and help in rebuilding the Syrian town of Kobane, which had been recaptured from the IS by Kurdish forces.

The investigation on identifying the corpse of a female suspect is reportedly still ongoing.

Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu announced on Tuesday that one suspect has been identified in connection with the bomb attack.
