Bulgarian Innovator Javor Kalojanov Receives Academy Award for Transforming Visual Effects

Egypt-born actor Omar Sharif has died at the age of 83.
Sharif, best known for his roles in “Lawrence of Arabia” and “Doctor Zhivago,” suffered a heart attack in a hospital Cairo, according to his agent, Steve Kenis.
Earlier in 2015 his agent announced that he had been diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease, according to reports of the BBC News.
Omar Sharif was born on April 10, 1932 in Alexandria, Egypt as Michel Demetri Chalhoub.
He studied at Victoria College and obtained a degree in mathematics and physics from the University of Cairo.
He went on to study acting at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London.
In 1955, he changed his name to Omar Sharif and converted to Islam to marry Egyptian actress Faten Hamama.
Sharif started his career in Egyptian cinema in the 1950s.
Sharif’s performance in “Lawrence of Arabia” earned him a Best Supporting Actor Oscar nomination and a Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actor – Motion Picture, as well as a shared Golden Globe Award for New Star of the Year – Actor in 1962.
In 1965 he won the Golden Globe Award for Best Actor – Motion Picture Drama for his role in “Doctor Zhivago.”
